Welcome

Australian Friends of Yad Vashem

The Australian Friends of Yad Vashem (AFYV) was established in March 2005 to coincide with the opening of the new Holocaust History Museum at Yad Vashem, Jerusalem.

Since then, thousands of Australians have visited the new museum, including several prominent families who have become major benefactors.

Well known communal figure Johnny Baker has assumed the role of inaugural Honorary President of AFYV. Baker has previously been President of the State Zionist Council of Victoria and of Mount Scopus Memorial College (1994-2004). AFYV has appointed Vicki Factor as Honorary Secretary and Michelle Deutsch as Honorary Treasurer.

Members of the community are invited to contact AFYV regarding forthcoming visits, educational programs or the Central Database of Shoah Victims’ Names.

Survivors are also welcome and encouraged to submit a Survivor Form here for Yad Vashem.

The Shoah Victims’ Names Recovery Project website can be found here or you can download the questionaire pdf here.
